Florida Hearing Matters maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming clinical environment for every patient who walks through our doors. The infection-control protocols we adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic have largely become standard practice across our office — not because they’re required day-to-day in 2026, but because they keep our patient population (which skews older and often immunocompromised) safer year-round.
Standard Infection Control
- Hand hygiene between every patient interaction.
- Surface sanitization of high-touch areas (doorknobs, chairs, counters, equipment) after every visit.
- Equipment sanitization — otoscope tips, audiometer headphones, and earphones are sanitized or single-use as appropriate.
- HEPA air filtration in patient areas.
- Restroom and waiting area cleaned multiple times per day.
Mask-Optional Policy
Florida Hearing Matters is currently operating under a mask-optional policy. Patients are welcome to wear masks if they prefer; our staff will accommodate by also wearing masks during your visit if requested. We respect every patient’s comfort level.
If you are immunocompromised or simply more comfortable with mask precautions, please let us know when you schedule and we’ll arrange a visit time with extra space and full masking.
If You’re Sick, Reschedule
If you have any active respiratory illness symptoms (cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose) on the day of your appointment, please call us to reschedule. There’s no penalty, and we’d much rather see you when you’re feeling well.
Telehealth Options for Existing Patients
For patients who prefer not to come in for routine programming adjustments, we offer remote support through our hearing aid manufacturers’ apps. Learn more about remote support →
