What Sets Us Apart

Why Choose Florida Hearing Matters

Choosing an audiologist is a long-term relationship. Here’s what makes Florida Hearing Matters different from larger chain clinics — and why our patients tend to stay with us for years.

Choosing an audiologist is a long-term relationship, not a one-time transaction. If you’re going to wear hearing aids, you’ll see this person at least every six months for the next 5–10 years — for adjustments, cleanings, programming changes, and the ongoing care that determines whether your hearing aids actually work for you. Here’s what makes Florida Hearing Matters different from larger chain clinics, and why the patients we serve tend to stay with us for the long haul.

Real-Ear Measurement on Every Fitting

This is the single most important difference between our practice and many others. Real-Ear Measurement (REM) is the only way to verify what amplification your hearing aid is actually delivering at your eardrum — as opposed to what its programming says it should be delivering. The two are often very different.

Studies consistently show that REM-verified fittings produce better speech understanding, better patient satisfaction, and lower return rates. Yet despite this, surveys suggest fewer than 30% of hearing aid fittings in the United States actually include REM verification. Why? It takes 20 extra minutes per fitting and requires equipment many clinics don’t invest in.

We do REM on every fitting. Every time.

Unhurried Appointments

A typical first visit at Florida Hearing Matters runs 60–90 minutes. We don’t schedule the next patient on top of you, and we don’t rush you out the door. Patients who’ve experienced larger chains often comment on the difference: real conversation about your specific situation, real time to ask questions, real explanation of what your audiogram means.

Multi-Brand, Independent Practice

Florida Hearing Matters is independently owned and operated. We’re not part of a chain, and we’re not owned by a hearing aid manufacturer. We fit hearing aids from Phonak, Oticon, and ReSound — three of the most clinically respected brands — and recommend whichever is right for your specific hearing pattern, lifestyle, and preferences.

Some clinics commit to a single manufacturer because of volume discounts. That financial arrangement quietly shapes which devices their patients get fit with. We’d rather lose a percentage point of margin and have you in the right hearing aids.

60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

Every hearing aid we dispense includes a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. If during that period the device isn’t the right fit for your life, we’ll work with you to adjust the programming, swap the device, or refund per our standard policy. The guarantee exists because hearing aid fitting is genuinely a process — some patients need a couple weeks of real-life wear to know if it’s the right device.

Trusted by Other Doctors

Three local ophthalmologists — at Lauderdale Eye Associates, Insight Eye Institute, and Aker Kasten Eye Center — and a family physician at Holy Cross Medical Group regularly refer their patients to Dr. Rossetti. Physicians refer to specialists they trust to take good care of their patients; consistent referrals across multiple practices over many years are a meaningful signal.

Genuinely Local

Florida Hearing Matters has been part of Fort Lauderdale since 2013. We’re located in MedPlex Building C, next to Holy Cross Hospital, at the heart of the medical community. We know our patients, and our patients know us — not as a brand, but as the practice they come back to.
