The Ear Spa is a quick, comfortable, professional earwax removal treatment using the Earigator® system — the gold standard in modern cerumen care. Warm water at the perfect temperature, controlled pressure, disposable hygienic tips, and an LED-illuminated view of your ear canal. No guesswork, no discomfort, no DIY damage. Most patients walk out hearing more clearly than they have in months — many describe it as “a curtain lifting” from one or both ears.
Why Patients Love the Ear Spa
- It feels good. Warm water, gentle pressure, calm room. More like a spa treatment than a medical procedure.
- It works fast. Most appointments are 30–45 minutes total — the actual treatment takes 3–5 minutes per ear.
- The improvement is immediate. Patients hear the difference the moment they sit up. Many describe it as the most satisfying medical appointment they’ve ever had.
- It’s safe. The Earigator was designed by an otologist (an MD ear-surgery specialist) and uses fully automated temperature and pressure controls so there’s zero risk of the eardrum injuries possible with old-school syringes or DIY irrigation kits.
- Hygienic by design. Single-use disposable tips for every patient. Nothing reused.
- One flat price. $125, no insurance hoops, no surprise add-ons, no upsell.
See It in Action
The Earigator combines an otoscope (so we can see exactly what we’re doing) with temperature- and pressure-controlled irrigation in one handpiece.
Tip: The video below was originally produced for audiologists, so the audio discusses the technical specs. We’ve set it to start muted — the visuals tell the whole story.
What Actually Happens During Your Visit
- Otoscopic exam first. Dr. Rossetti or one of our trained team members looks inside your ear canal to confirm there’s no perforation, infection, or other reason to skip the irrigation. (If we find a contraindication, we’ll tell you straight up and recommend the right next step instead.)
- Cape on, catch basin in place. The basin sits at the side of your jaw and catches the water. Most people are surprised how little water actually escapes.
- Warm water, gentle pressure. The Earigator’s digital display shows water at exactly 98°F — body temperature, so it doesn’t feel cold or hot. Pressure is automatically held at 12 psi, which is firm enough to dislodge wax but soft enough to be comfortable.
- 3–5 minutes per ear. The wax flows out into the catch basin. We can show you what came out if you want to see (most patients do, somehow).
- Final otoscopic check. We confirm the canal is clear, the eardrum looks healthy, and your hearing has improved. Walk out the door feeling lighter.
Who the Ear Spa Is For
You’re a great candidate if…
- You feel fullness, pressure, or muffled hearing in one or both ears
- Your hearing changed gradually or suddenly — especially if it improves after a shower
- You wear hearing aids and they’ve started whistling or sounding muffled (we recommend professional cleaning every 6 months for hearing aid users)
- You use earbuds, AirPods, or in-ear monitors regularly — they trap and compact wax
- You swim, surf, or get water stuck in your ears often
- You’re experiencing tinnitus that started recently
- You’ve been using cotton swabs (you really shouldn’t — they push wax deeper)
- You just want a fresh start — clean ears feel amazing
When the Ear Spa Isn’t Right for You
For your safety, we screen every patient before treatment. We’ll skip the irrigation and recommend an appropriate alternative if you have:
- An active ear infection or recent ear surgery
- A perforated eardrum (past or current)
- Tympanostomy tubes (ear tubes)
- Ear pain or drainage
- A history of complications from previous irrigation
If any of these apply, please call us first at (954) 999-5495 so we can recommend the right approach — sometimes manual instrument removal is a better fit than irrigation.
All Ages Welcome
The Earigator is approved for use by ENT specialists, audiologists, family practitioners, pediatricians, and even military and nursing-home clinics. Translation: it’s safe and effective for kids, adults, and seniors. We see patients of all ages, including:
- 20- and 30-somethings who use earbuds constantly and finally feel the difference when their canal is properly cleaned
- Active adults who swim, dive, or work in dusty environments
- Seniors and hearing aid users who need regular cleaning to keep their devices working at their best
- Parents who want a safer alternative to home wax-removal kits for themselves or their kids

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — $125 covers everything: the otoscopic exam, the irrigation treatment for both ears (or one), and the final check. Cash and major credit cards both accepted. No insurance paperwork, no surprise charges.
No. Insurance plans don’t cover earwax removal performed at an audiology practice — your medical insurance covers diagnostic audiology services (hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations) but not cerumen removal as a standalone procedure here. That’s why we offer it as a flat $125 self-pay service: simple, transparent, no insurance hassle, and the same professional-grade Earigator treatment a physician’s office would charge significantly more for.
No. The Earigator’s automated temperature and pressure controls are specifically designed to make the procedure comfortable. Most patients describe it as a strange but pleasant warm-water sensation. Nothing pokes the eardrum. There’s no scraping. If anything ever feels uncomfortable, we stop immediately.
It depends on how quickly you produce wax. Some people are fine with once every 1–2 years. Hearing aid wearers benefit from cleaning every 6 months. Earbud users, swimmers, and people with naturally heavy wax production often go every 3–6 months. We’ll give you a personalized recommendation after your first visit.
If you want to. (Many patients do.) The catch basin holds everything that flushes out, and we’re happy to show you. It’s oddly satisfying. We promise we won’t judge.
Three big differences. Pressure and temperature control: at-home kits are uncontrolled and can damage the eardrum. Direct visualization: the Earigator includes an LED-illuminated otoscope so we can see exactly what we’re doing. Pre-treatment exam: we check for perforations or infections first, which DIY kits don’t. The American Academy of Otolaryngology specifically warns against home irrigation precisely because of these risks.
Not necessary — the Earigator handles even firm wax effectively. If you have particularly thick or impacted buildup, we may recommend a few drops of mineral oil or over-the-counter cerumenolytic for 1–2 days before your appointment, but most patients don’t need anything. We’ll let you know if your situation calls for prep.
