Call us directly — we handle the rest
You do not need to call a third party, sit on hold, or figure out which program you qualify for before you can make an appointment. Call Florida Hearing Matters at (954) 999-5495 with your insurance information and we will verify your coverage, schedule you through the right portal, and tell you what to expect to pay before you come in.
That is true for every plan — federal, Medicare Advantage, private insurance, or no insurance at all.
Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal — FEHB & PSHB
Florida Hearing Matters is in network with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Federal Employee Program, and we are also a TruHearing provider. If you are a federal employee, postal employee, annuitant, or covered family member, you have hearing benefits you can use here.
There are two different things patients get told about, and confusing them is where people lose money:
- Your plan’s hearing aid allowance — real insurance coverage under FEHB or PSHB, with a dollar limit and a mandatory prior approval.
- TruHearing / Blue365 — a discount program available to Blue Cross and Blue Shield members that provides reduced pricing on hearing aids and a capped exam fee. This is a discount program, not insurance.
You do not have to work out which one applies to you. Call us, tell us what plan you have, and we will figure out which route gets you the most benefit and set up the appointment accordingly.
What your plan pays toward hearing aids
For 2026, Service Benefit Plan Standard Option and Basic Option cover hearing aids for adults age 22 and over up to $2,500 every 5 calendar years. Dispensing fees, fittings, batteries, and repair services all count toward that limit, and you pay any amount over the allowance. The same figures apply under both FEHB and PSHB.
Plan terms change from year to year. Rather than guessing from a brochure, call us with your plan information — verifying benefits is something we do every day, and we would rather tell you the real number up front.
FEP Blue Focus is different
FEP Blue Focus does not cover hearing aids or hearing aid exams. The allowance above applies to Standard Option and Basic Option only. If you are on Blue Focus, call us at (954) 999-5495 before you book and we will be straight with you about what a visit will cost and what your options are.
Prior approval — we handle this for you
FEP requires prior approval before hearing aids are purchased using the hearing aid benefit. Hearing aids bought without prior approval are not covered, and there is no fixing it afterward. Over-the-counter hearing aids, enhancement devices, and accessories are excluded from the benefit entirely.
This is exactly the kind of thing that goes wrong when a patient is left to coordinate it alone. Our office confirms your coverage and handles the prior approval paperwork using the audiometric documentation from your evaluation. You will not be chasing forms or wondering whether something was submitted.
Considering an over-the-counter device instead? Read our honest guide to over-the-counter hearing aids first — it would be a shame to spend money out of pocket that your benefit could have covered.
Wellcare Spendables® Card
Florida Hearing Matters accepts the Wellcare Spendables card through CareCredit. If you are on a Wellcare Medicare Advantage plan and your plan includes a Spendables card, you can use it toward eligible out-of-pocket hearing expenses at our office.
The Spendables card is a preloaded card that, starting in 2026, carries a monthly dollar amount Wellcare members can spend on eligible vision, dental, and hearing expenses. Nothing special is required on your end — bring the card to your appointment and we process it like any other payment. Your available balance and what counts as an eligible expense are set by Wellcare, so check your plan materials if you want to confirm your balance before you come in.
Medicare Advantage & Other Plans
Many Medicare Advantage plans include a real hearing aid benefit — sometimes a substantial one — and the terms vary enormously from plan to plan. Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover hearing aids or routine hearing exams.
Rather than trying to decode your plan documents, call us at (954) 999-5495 with your insurance card in hand. We verify benefits before your visit so you know what to expect, and we will tell you honestly if a plan does not cover what you were hoping it would.
Paying the Balance
Benefits rarely cover everything. For the remainder, we offer CareCredit — a healthcare credit card with promotional 0% interest periods, typically 6, 12, 18, or 24 months depending on the offer. Applications take about two minutes and decisions are usually immediate. Hearing aids and professional fitting services are also generally HSA and FSA eligible.

What Your Visit Looks Like Here
Using a benefit should not mean settling for a rushed appointment. What you get at Florida Hearing Matters is the same regardless of how you pay:
- A complete diagnostic evaluation in our sound-treated booth — pure-tone audiometry, speech-in-noise testing, and tympanometry, not a quick screening. See what testing involves.
- Real-Ear Measurement on every fitting. This is the verification step that confirms a hearing aid is actually delivering the prescribed amplification inside your ear canal. It is one of the best predictors of whether hearing aids work in real life, and many offices skip it. More on fitting.
- Time with the audiologist. Dr. Rossetti has practiced audiology since 2005 and founded this practice in 2013. You see her, not a rotating sales staff.
- Follow-up care and programming as your hearing and your listening environments change.
